Greeting Card

The challenge was to just illustrate a Greeting card, but I wanted to take it a step further. I wanted to create a card that is not the typical type of card you would see which birthed this idea. Most coming out cards are loud and flamboyant, so I created this card with a subtle reference to “Coming out of the Closet” for those who aren’t loud and flamboyant.

The illustration is supposed to be quite relaxed, but also simple enough to not cause a huge commotion. The pile of clothes in the floor create the idea of a rainbow, symbolic of the LGBT Community. Paired with fun type for a simple congratulations, this card is meant to a subtle congratulations for those who do not want a lot of attention drawn to them. Also, a fun decorative font adds to the whimsy of receiving this card.
